Join us in celebrating Mitch Espe’s life
On Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 7:00 PM we will have a musical celebration of my good Friend, Musical and Spirit Brother, and Beautiful Soul, Mitch Espe’s life with musicians he played with here in LA at the Lankershim location in the Art Gallery, 5108 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood.
Some of you may have heard that he passed away on Wednesday, March 8th from what appears to have been a Massive Heart attack while on a shoot- shocking everyone who knew him from here, to San Francisco, to Des Moines, Iowa, where he was from.
Mitch had been my Guitarist and Musical Director for every music performance I had done in Los Angeles, starting on 3/12/1996 with the Road Theatre Company at the Eclectic Cafe in a night of Poetry and Jazz called “The Beat Goes On”, a continuation of that idea at Theatre East called “Heart…Beat” in March of 2003, culminating with a production of “Heart…Beat” at the Boston Court in Pasadena on June 7th, 2008- Directed by Scott Alan Smith, with Mitch as our Musical Director.
He had played 5 of the 7 Playwright’s Festival with me, closing the last three with “Theo’s Dream Sequence” (a name he coined), and several more special nights at the Road- Both at Magnolia, and Lankershim. Besides being a brilliant Guitarist, he was a Highly respected Sound Man in TV and Film.
Anyone at the Road who saw and heard those deep from the soul magic notes he so eloquently brought forth from his guitar, or who were lucky enough to meet and dig his beautiful Spirit, who were lucky enough to work with him, or who would just like to celebrate the memory-by all means,
Please Join us! We’d love to have you there.
