The Lankershim Arts Center

The Road Theatre Company is located at the historic Lankershim Arts Center (LAC) in North Hollywood in the NoHo Arts District. Built circa 1939 as a Department of Water & Power Building, the Lankershim Arts Center was renovated and transformed into an arts center by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles. It is now a registered cultural landmark.

The Road Theatre Company has long been committed to an extensive array of community outreach programs which benefit all. In 1999 the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles selected The Road from an impressive pool of applicants and granted us sole leadership of the Lankershim Arts Center.

LAC programming provides low cost and/or free classes and scholarships for arts instruction, performances, and exhibitions that bring together professional artists and community members. The diverse programming addresses the youth-at-risk, teen, adult, family, senior and disabled members of the community.

In addition, the LAC is available for rentals for various arts activities. For more information on the programming offered at the Lankershim Arts Center or to inquire about rentals of the space, please contact the Lankershim Arts Center Administrator.
