Programming
The Road is dedicated to finding and presenting new works by both emerging and established writers. We believe that these are the voices that most resonate with young audiences and their demand for self discovery.
Mainstage Productions
These productions are fully staged and fully designed. Each show is scheduled for an 8-10 week run with a total of 24-30 performances. We have recently begun providing ASL interpreters for specified performances of each show.
Off-Road Productions
In 2007 we continued our “Off-Road” series with CUTS. These shows are performed concurrently with a mainstage show, on nights our theatre would traditionally be dark. CUTS was a collaboration with the Dog Ear playwrights and culminated in an evening of 10 new plays.
Road Signs Readings
Our Monday night reading series is open to the public free of charge and consists of readings of new and classic plays, in various states of rehearsal. This affords both playwrights and company members to evaluate a play for appropriateness for production by the Road and also gives audiences a chance to view and comment on plays in progress.
