James Avery, a smart media
executive, is invited by his boss to spend a weekend in
the country, where he discovers the existence of the Junto;
a small, secret society created by Benjamin Franklin in
colonial Philadelphia to improve business and society.
James learns that the Junto now operates outside of the
rule of law with unchecked power as it controls and manipulates
the policies and direction of the U.S. government.
James
is forced to come to terms with the fact that the foundation
of the country is not what he thought it was, and he
must choose whether to blow the whistle on this secret
government, or commit an act that will seal his fate as
its newest member. James deals, not with the temptation
to do evil, but with the chance to do good.
