Welcome to our 2nd Annual Summer Playwrights Festival
A Fundraising Event for the Road Theatre Company
Following our mission of finding and developing new works for the American stage, we present a surprising collection of full-length and one-act plays for your enjoyment and consideration.
Between July 11th and 17th, you will have the opportunity to hear a total of 20 new works from 20 playwrights directed and performed by Road company members and a wonderful group of guest artists including Emmy, Golden Globe, Ovation and other award winners. In addition, the festival includes live music, food and drink, and a perfect opportunity for you to discuss the work with the artists in relaxed and informal post-reading talk-backs and soirees.
Some of this year’s offerings are being considered for the Road’s mainstage while others will go to our Off-Road Series or to be further developed as part of our Road Signs Monday night reading series. We welcome your opinions. We also deeply appreciate any donation you can make to help the Road continue its award-winning work as we begin our 21st season of presenting new works to Los Angeles audiences.
Funding a theatre is a daunting challenge and never more so than at the present time. The donation you made today will help us to continue to bring the power of theatre to our community and to make our 21st season a reality.
