The True by Sharr White

When it comes to Polly Noonan, there’s no fine line between the political and personal. For her… it’s only personal. Especially now that her hero, “mayor for life” Erastus Corning, is in a pitched battle for control of the Albany Democratic party. The True explores the bounds of love, loyalty, and female power in the male-dominated world of 1977 machine politics.

Meet your Playwright:

Meet your Director:

This is Taylor Nichols’ fifth Summer Playwright festival. Having the opportunity to work with playwrights early in the process and watching the actors bring the story to life is what keeps him coming back. He has directed all around Los Angeles from the Malibu Stage, Oleanna, to the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica, North Beach World premiere and the Meta in Hollywood, Plunge, West Coast premiere. He has also directed at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts where he is on faculty in the Acting department. Audiences might recognize him more from his work as an actor, he is currently in The Last Tycoon for Amazon and in the upcoming feature Chappaquiddick.
